Why Photography Matters
When I was a child growing up in Hawaii, my father had a Polaroid camera. He captured moments that mattered: a backyard luau, a wedding celebration. Each click produced an instant photograph, a tangible memory, handed out to guests with joy. These moments, these photographs, became the fabric of my early life.
As I grew, so did my passion for photography. From Kodak Instamatic cameras to my first "real" camera, a Canon A-T1, I was captivated by the art of capturing light. Nights at the beach with friends, immortalized on Kodak 400 ISO film, showed me the power of a photograph to freeze time and evoke emotion. From that moment on, I was hooked.
In 2015, on the cusp of retirement in Burbank, CA, I decided to take my lifelong passion for photography to the next level. Embracing digital photography, I purchased a Nikon 7100 and embarked on a wildlife photography workshop in Tanzania. The Serengeti's beauty, captured through my lens, ignited a new fire in me.
Upgrading to the Fujifilm X-T System, I continued to explore the world, from local hidden gems to international wonders. Each workshop, each trip, honed my skills and deepened my love for this art of photography. Digital processing allowed me to transform these captured moments into stunning photographs, each one a testament to the magic of photography.
Now, I am thrilled to share these moments with you. Through this website, you can experience the beauty I have seen, the places I have visited, and the passion that drives me. Each photograph is a piece of my journey, a story told through the lens, and I hope they inspire you as much as they do me.
